    • Busy time of the year, huh, guys? I hope your production goes well this weekend, Lisa. Even with some longer nights coming up, I guess it's good that the job allows for making up sick time. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving as I don't have to do any work. We just drive down to Dean's and enjoy a full spread. He doesn't even really allow for donated dishes, so it's completely work-free (unless you count the endless running around I do, keeping track of Kadie and what she's terrorizing within...

    • I had my first meeting with the headhunter / recruiter yesterday. We went over my resume and what I was looking for (and what I was trying to avoid). While my limited formal education and my complete lack of desire to do computer-related work is going to make things a tad more difficult, there are still some possibilities open.Tuesday, I passed my tolerance limit for my current job - it has more to do with the team lead's personality and managing style now, but I still don't care for the work...

    • Kadie is doing well in her classes. She has made several new friends and, aside from a few mornings when I think she's dealing more with being a little tired than anything else, she very much looks forward to going. None of the"normal" first-year jitters here. She is getting better at elaborating on what she's been doing during the day and has been sharing several of the songs they've taught her (complete with minimal sign language). I'm torn between which type of class might benefit her more...

    • I think I've finally hit the end of my patience with my current job. It's become a daily struggle to get out of bed knowing what I face when I get to work and it's starting to affect my attitude while I'm there. I have the name of a headhunter that I'm going to contact - I just need to find a time to do it. With the commute getting me home so late and not wanting to call her during work (how wrong would that be?), I'm in a race against time. I still don't know, exactly, what I want to do but...

    • We had Kadie's appointment at the allergist last week (which didn't go so well -"This won't hurt," my ass...) and came back with all negatives on the tests. So she's not officially allergic to anything but the doctor explained that the post-nasal drip and congestion could be caused by a sensitivity to something. Since the problems started 'round about the time we moved up to Hampstead, it's probably something that's found within the country (trees, flowers, weeds, etc.) that's not as prolific...

    • Heard that on the news this afternoon - it's a cross between humidity and temperature; a way to say how hot it"feels" when you add the humidity into the calculation. Anyway, as of 2:30 this afternoon, the humature at Ft Meade, Maryland was 94 degrees. Ick! Kadie's a little worse for the wear today. Not a good day for potty training, but she's feeling worse (her cold) and we think that may have a lot to do with it.I'm exhausted. Work is draining me at the moment. If it weren't for the people we...
