    • If you've been following the recent progress of the site, you may have noticed a new feature that is now available after clicking on the"view blogs by..." button. I am slowly adding in more ways to make searching for blogs both easy and fun. The latest of these features is known as a"tag cloud" in Internet-speak. A tag cloud is essentially a collection of words or phrases that are specifically mentioned within, or related to, a blog entry. The tags are listed in alphabetical order and the...

    • I've noticed a recent trend of premature blog and/or comment submittals. This by itself really is a non-issue. However, the actions taken shortly thereafter lead me to believe there's still some confusion on how things work in this application. Hopefully the below points will help to clarify things a bit:If you accidentally submit a post (either blog or comment), hitting the Cancel button will not cause the submission to halt. For lack of a better description, the Cancel button that you all see...

    • In order to more effectively sort the current blogs, I realized that specifying a particular month was somewhat limiting. So while that option and the Year option are still available for sorting, the newest tag cloud, called Time will allow you to view posts as far back as XX number of days. The new default setting for viewing Blogs is to show entries posted in the last 30 days. Hopefully this will make things work a little better.Let me know if you have any issues with this new feature. I...

    • Well some of you late nighters may have just been sitting in great anticipation of the July-August rollover. It wasn't all that spectacular so don't worry if you missed it. If anyone did happen to be up and attempted to access the Blogs you might have noticed an apparent lack of entries. This is by design... poor design. I realized very quickly that some more changes are required to make this ideal. For now, I have eliminated the Month tag so you'll continue to see any posts from the year...

    • Okay, I am still working on quite a few things, but there are a few more updates in place now that should make things easier to navigate and a little quicker to load.Since loading every single blog each time can take longer, you now have the option of displaying the blogs in a"Full" format or a"List" format. The default now is List, but if you want to go back to the Full format, simply select the Full option under your Account settings next to"Blog Format". In addition, for those on dial-up...

    • For those of you on dial-up connections, I'm curious as to how quickly (or not so quickly) the site is loading for you all. I'm always looking to add more features, but never at the expense of load times. So I'm trying to keep everything to a minimum so the pages load more quickly.I recently switched the default Blog display to only show the blogs from the current month/year. That way you're not loading every single blog each time you visit. Just in case anyone bookmarked the blog link...

    • Just a quick note on some new features/updates...A request was made to add a"Reply To" button for each of the comments so a person could actually respond to individual comments instead of just the blog. So be it. A"Reply To" comment now shows an"[RE: Comment #]" at the top and each comment gets a unique comment number associated with it (also displayed).Since the number of blogs is quickly going to overrun a single page, I've set the default selection up to only display blogs from the...

    • Since I just happen to still be up working on this, I guess I can field the question/comment placed in the previous posting. Where do Blogs come from, you ask? Well, you see, when one person is in love with another person... Oh wait. Scratch that. What is the purpose of Blogging? What is a Blog and why are so many people going completely nuts over them. I'm going to do this the easy way; by cheating. Here you go Ms. Anonymous. I pulled the following excerpt directly from Wikipedia just because...

    • Just a few notes on some new features that are either in place now or will be shortly...The tag clouds and tags within each blog entry have now been adjusted in how they work (slightly). Searching using a tag is exactly the same. However, it is now much clearer as to what tags are in use at any given time. When a particular tag is selected, it will be highlighted within the respective tag cloud as well as within the blogs. If no entries are currently selected, the"ALL" tag will be highlighted...
