    • For those of you who have courageously ventured into the new spaces, I just wanted to let you know that I'm continuing to work on code behind the scenes. There are still quite a few items on my"to-do" list including little tweaks and bug fixes as I come across issues. So if you click on a function, link or button and get the"Oops" message, rest assured that I'm still plugging away at the code. If you happen across something utterly glaring or a show stopper bug, do please report it by posting...

    • Well it took longer than I anticipated (as usual), but I committed to getting something out to you guys by the end of this weekend so it's up. I still have more work to do, features to add, etc, but if I wait until EVERYTHING is ready, then you'll probably never see it. I've started the mad rush of image uploading fun, by uploading a few sample photos myself. This should give you an idea of what the image section looks like when populated as well as letting you practice opening, viewing...

    • Despite several attempts via email to notify everyone that the new site was up and ready for use, I only managed to leave everyone more confused than ever . Hopefully, my last email was clear enough and members will begin signing in any day now.The new site has undergone some pretty severe transformations from its predecessor, so feel free to ask if any section is unclear. I plan to work up a fair amount of help documentation in the future that should assist new members with any questions they...

    • With the most recent updates to the site, the bulk of the features I originally planned to implement have now been fully integrated into the site. The reason you are probably seeing more of my"human" side , is that I have actually reached a point where I am semi-satisfied, in terms of site layout and performance. Did you all ever think this was possible? But a lot of the fun for me is the development side so I am putting out the request, once again, for recommendations and suggestions for new...

    • I am aware that there may be some problems with the functionality of the site right now. I am working very diligently to implement some rather large changes in the site and have altered some of the current components to support this effort. Unfortunately, a bi-product of this change was a few breakages. Your comments are not going unnoticed, they are simply going unaddressed for the moment. Please be patient with me while I continue to work towards my end goal. It's nearer than you think. I...

    • I don't know how often they will be used but there are times during a post when you want to quote someone else. It has become pretty standardized to denote these types of quotes within the primary speaker's text by using block quotes. I just added this feature in so this may not even work. But in order to test it I have to post something so here goes.Thrasybulus was an Athenian general and democratic leader. In 411 BC, in the wake of an oligarchic coup at Athens, the pro-democracy sailors at...

    • I know all you Speedvision fans out there can relate to the search for"more power". Vroom, vroom, vroom!! Since the site is now in full blown use, I no longer feel right leaving it hosted on the smaller development server. The debate was a quick one and after getting Coldfusion up and configured on the production web server last night, I moved the entire site over. I noticed that some of you experienced some problems due to the move for which I apologize. But hopefully all is fixed now. So...

    • Okay folks, it appears that there have some bugs as of late causing entries to show up without any content. I have been working to implement a relatively large change-over in how the site security operates (more in accordance with standards). In the process of testing, I usually make changes to files and then upload them to the development side of the server and test the changes. Unfortunately, due to a bug in Macromedia's Dreamweaver, the tool I use to build and test the app, it occasionally...

    • Every time I think I've got the code bug-free, something else crops up. Well as of this last revision I think I've got it. But further testing will be the judge. For those of you using the tag clouds or Cats and Keywords at the bottom of each blog, to narrow your search, this feature should now work properly.

    • In doing some more testing this morning, I noticed some bugs in the Reply To window feature. So if you ran into problems earlier, this should be working better now. I also switched the display from text to html, which looks a little less ugly and is easier to read.
