Well, the snow has finally quit for now.  The forecast is for 3-7 more inches tonight.  I gave up trying to use a ruler early on.  I'm guessing we have 18 inches now.  I had to shovel out for the gate to be able to open, after I snow plowed with Bubba a few times.

Everyone should join in a mass strangulation of Mom, who went to church, came out to find snow, went BACK inside for another choir rehearsal, finally got done by 1:00 or so, THEN tried to drive herself home, slipping and sliding all the way.  En route she was nearly hit by someone, and in taking evasive action spun out over a curb, necessitating the people in the house to come out and push her out.  When it finally caught up with her, she was shaking so bad, she couldn't get the key in her lock.  I swear, if it isn't kids, it's parents.  I'm threatening to go take the rear wheels off her car.

Cricket was bored to tears being inside, and when I made snowshoe tracks for her she decided to go out and play keep-away from Momma.  But in trying to escape Melody, she leaped out of the tracks and to her evident surprise, sank almost out of sight. (her belly is what floated her)  But her feet were still way above anything solid, so she reared up to leap out, except her rear legs just sank out of sight until she was vertical, but still almost out of sight.  Eventually, she swam/crawled/tunnelled her way back to the packed stuff, at which point she studiously ignored the whole episode.

Scraped the snow off the woodshed roof, so hopefully it will remain off the ground.  Don't know how much weight the glass in the greenhouse roof will support, but not much I can do about it anyway.

Wow!  I take it back about snow sharing...you seem to be keeping more than your fair share.  It looks like we have a bit over a foot as of last night.  I have not peeked yet this morning.  Michael spent some time plowing with the tractor yesterday, while I refused to go play in the stuff.  It just looked cold and wet, and like no fun at all.

We lost power for a while last night, about two thirty, but it was repaired within a couple of hours...I know, 'cause I spent most of the time waking up to see if I had overslept due to the lack of digital clock.

Hopefully all of your outbuildings are standing up to this test of weight per square inch.

I don't think that Grandma does much reading on the web sight, but if she does then "GRANDMA!  NO DRIVING IN THE SNOW!"

It is to be hoped that Cricket , ever mindful of her dignity, has recovered from her incident.  I had a similiar experience on snowshoes once...I fell, facing downhill, in snow that was too deep...nothing to push on to get up.  The though crossed my mind that I might actually die, upside down, flailing like a fish.  Needless to say, like Cricket, I made it, but I am certain that dignity was set aside during the process...I prefer to view it as survival technique.
