    Busy...as Always

Posted by Heatherdawn on Thursday, June 04, 2009 @ 12:31 PM

While I enjoy my college classes (for the most part - Statistics was gruesome), I will be glad to be done with them. Work is picking up so much lately that people are being "encouraged" to work overtime (even though we're salary and don't get paid), I'm trying to get some exterior landscaping done before it gets too horribly hot and humid outside, and I'm trying to keep up with home errands, family time, and incorporate some personal growth time...adding the college classes on top of all of this has become a bit tiresome. I'm taking tomorrow off from work just so that I can write my final paper for the class I'm in now. I just haven't had any time to work on it and this weekend is going to be busy, busy, busy. I hate having to waste leave like that, but I also recognize that, if I don't, the stress will be overwhelming and will put a damper on Kadie's b-day party (which we're doing this Sunday afternoon).

Jeff remains busy with classes of his own, plenty of projects at work, the FJ, and his new-found passion for home improvements to help justify his new tool purchases. I have to say, by the way, that I have been kicked out of the garage for over a good month now, heading towards two. First, it was because of an FJ project, now it's because he got all these tools and whatnot and hasn't a place to put them. I try not to complain - at least it's not snowing, but the recent wet weather has made me grump a little.

Speaking of which, my new car is serving me well. I'm still very uncomfortable with driving and riding as a passenger (probably more so with the later as I have no control) but I'm working to release that negativity before it becomes more permanent.

Kadie's last day of kindergarten will be the 17th. She has her days where she doesn't want to go (mostly, I think, because she doesn't like waking up so early), but, for the most part, she still enjoys it all. Sadly, many of her friends will not be returning for 1st grade. After her preschool year, she lost a few who went to public schools for kindergarten. Most of those who are leaving now are those who will be going to private Christian/Catholic schools. As far as Jeff and I are concerned, we're still very much hoping that a miracle happens in the next 3 years and Julia Brown will decide to extend her school program to higher grade levels.

As previously mentioned, we'll be celebrating Kadie's b-day this Sunday. She wanted to have her party at the Pump It Up place again (two rooms full of several different moonbounces) and they were running a special for the 7th so I took advantage of the savings. I didn't realize, when I made the reservations, that it would fall on the weekend when my paper was due, but, oh well.

Well, I've been trying to catch up on things while on the ride home and I'm thoroughly car sick now, so I'll sign off now with well wishes and love for all.
