    Dive into Water

Posted by Heatherdawn on Thursday, June 04, 2009 @ 12:25 PM

I thought that the title would be an appropriate counter to Lisa's. Maryland has been suffering through some nasty thunderstorms lately - which is good for all my newly planted plants, but not so good for traffic and sitting in drenched clothing for the hour and a hour commute home. Most of the state has been under flash flood watches off and on for the past week. Last week, just in time for Jeff and I to get off work, the heavens opened right over our work location and poured so much so quickly that the roadway became a river with the water going up and over the sidewalk on the sides. The humidity has also returned with a vengeance - a good reminder of why we don't see ourselves staying her permanently.

    Other than that...

How about carrying an umbrella? I know that you won't melt but the commute might be more comfortable. But then again, if it will get you moved west - let it rain, rain, rain. Big Grin

After more than a week of sunshine and 80's, we too have been having thundershowers. Part of the day is usually sunny, with lots of thunder and lighting in the late afternoon. Sara hates it. but it's been staying in the 70's though so everything is green and beautiful.

Rain or shine - who cares!!!!!! WE ARE DONE WITH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - the umbrella that I was using didn't help with the four inches of water I was sloshing through or the sideways torrent of rain buckets...I gave it a gallant effort, but still ended up soaked. Tomorrow is calling for 100 percent chance of hard rain with a couple of inches of accumulation. Like I said, at least my plants are getting a good dousing that will, hopefully, allow them to take hold and grow. (Personally, I don't need the dousing, but I'll still live.)

Is Violet going back to the little public school next year?

Yes, Mrs. Taff (5th & 6th grade teacher) appears to be the kind of teacher we would wish for in every classroom. I'm sure Violet will be more co-operative with someone other than Grandma - at least she better not act that way in public!
