      Poll: Are Notifications Necessary for "Reply to Comment"?

      With the recent addition of the"Reply to Comment" feature, I realized that some people may want to be notified when someone replies to one of their comments.

      Is this a feature that you all would find useful or are comment responses not worth the trouble?
      I can work it either way. I'll let the majority decide.

        I suppose that if we are expecting a reply, we can just check our blog, but notifications are ok with me!

        There are two main issues here...

        1. With the current setup, unless you are the author of the blog itself, you will not be notified that a new comment has been posted
        2. If someone responds to one of your comments, you will not be notified

        When you select the"Notify me of new comments" checkbox under your account settings, you are asking to be notified when someone posts a comment to one of YOUR blogs only. New comments posted on other peoples' blogs will not trigger any type of notification to anyone but the author of that blog. I can add an additional option that says notify me of ALL new comments if that seems like a better idea to everyone. I can also send out notifications based on a response to a comment. But not knowing how many posts we're going to get per day, I didn't want to inundate peoples' inboxes with a flood of email notifications. This is supposed to be convenient, not annoying. That's why I'm putting the poll out to everyone else to determine if more options are needed under your account. If so, which ones? As always, I'm open to suggestions.

        I do not think that notifications for ALL comments would be necessary...after all, we can scroll down and check in if we want to. Notifications to comments on our blogs would be nice though...and notifications for new blogs...
