    Firefox 3

Posted by Jeff on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 @ 04:37 AM

In case some of you missed the initial release of Firefox 3, they managed to set a world record for number of downloads in a single day. That being said, I have been using and testing in Firefox version 3 since the release date and all is well. As a matter of fact, it's actually improved quite a bit.

Firefox 3 contains many improvements over version two, one of the most notable being the new and improved awesome bar. Among these improvements and bug fixes, there are also two well documented issues that were corrected in the new release, both of which currently affect Firefox 2 users on this site.

    1. Cursor is not always visible in edit windows or form fields
    2. Random horizontal or vertical lines appear on the screen

If you're wondering whether it's worth the download or not, I'd highly recommend it. The speed increase and reduced memory footprint are well worth it by themselves, let alone all the other great new features.
