    Putting Up the Annual Sequoia

Posted by Richard on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 @ 10:19 PM
Yes, I know I'm running sadly behind.   We did get the TREE up last week, so acording to all you weanie tree fluffers that should be excuse enough.  7 1/2' ? What a breeze, although sparkles seem much better than sparks. Ouch!  I'm really not sure why I'm so far behind.  I start out each day with good intentions but at the end of the day what happened???  I have finally got my hip-sacrum joints working together which is a huge relief but then went into a winter cold and zero energy.  I have been trying to sort thru the maze of ebay selling for an outlet for the sawhorses.  What started out as fairly straight forward gets complicated quickly.  There's  auctions vs buy it now, paypal in several versions, storefronts vs listings etc in an ever widening maze.  Some of you probably won't believe this but I am still having to work on PATIENCE.  Christmas shopping has been mostly online thank God for that blessing although it still takes an amazing amount of time to get through a checkout.  Sadly, probably more than Walmart but travel time saving is great.
As far as tree fluffing vs mental instability HD may be on to somthing.  It could explain a lot of things.  If  I could just remember what a PBA was or was it an APB?

Aaaahhh, it is good to know that Tree Fluffers R U are back in business.

If you want to have the possibility of selling the saw horses for more than your asking price, then auction would work...because you can set a minimum asking price.  However, since you have MANY sawhorses, it won't take people long to figure out that all they have to do is wait until time runs out, and buy it at the minimum price.  I would settle for the "buy it now" and start moving them puppies.

Uh, I think that PDA stand for Parent's Dummy Assistance.

Uhhhh what's tree fluffing?  Does it hurt?  Is it some loggers' rodeo event?

Obviously the flaw in your strategy is to start out each day with good intentions in the first place.  Start out with no intentions whatsoever, and anything you accomplish will be miraculous.

    (A reply to comment #2)
When the fake trees get stored for the year, all the "branches" get squished together, and have to be fluffed out...so that the trees have some chance of looking real...otherwise you end up with a tree that looks like someone sat on a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.

Now, for the second portion of your comment.  WOW.  I keep looking at that comment, and trying to decide whether it is loaded with optimism, or filled with pessimism.

It seems to me that if what you accomplish is viewed as miraculous, albeit unexpected, that you might want to repeat the performance, thus creating good intention.
